COVID-19 / Coronavirus Policy

By Booking and attending your appointment you accept our covid-19 policies and procedures.

UPDATED 15th June 20224

As well as being a clinic that treats clinically vulnerable patients, we also offer close contact services. This means that we are required by the government, Public Health England, our Insurance providers and Professional Bodies to keep the majority of our current covid-19 Policies and Procedures in place in order to keep you safe. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in these matters.

1.     We kindly ask that you do not attend the clinic if you have tested positive for or have symptoms of covid-19, and notify us immediately if you do.

2.    All patient notes and consultation forms have been moved from paper to digital for infection control and environmental reasons. All information is encrypted and password protected inline with GDPR regulations (2018). All new patients and those whose last appointment was more than 12 months ago, are kindly asked to complete this information via the links emailed to them upon booking before their upcoming appointment.

3.     Failure to fully complete any of the consultation or consent forms before your appointment will result in your appointment being cancelled and the full appointment fee being charged/ retained.

4.     We kindly ask that you come alone, where possible, for your appointment so that we limit contact between patients at the clinic.

5.     We kindly ask that you do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for your appointment as we will not be able to let you in the building. If you arrive early you may be asked to wait outside regardless of the weather conditions. We will let you in as soon as we can and take you straight in for your appointment after you have washed your hands. Please note that if you are late for your appointment your treatment time will be reduced.

6.     We kindly ask that you bring as few possessions as possible with you to your appointment as we do not have the facilities to store excess bags during your appointment. If you wish to leave your belongings outside of the treatment room you do so at your own risk as the communal areas are unstaffed. We do not accept responsibility for any items lost, stolen, or damaged during your time at the clinic.

7.  We kindly ask that you wash your hands before entering and upon leaving the clinic using the bathroom on the ground or first floors. There are antibacterial soap and hand towels in the bathroom.

8. We require a minimum of 48 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment without charge in all circumstances. In the cases of serious illness, emergency or bereavement where we may consider waiving your appointment/ cancellation fee, you will be asked to provide evidence of you being unable to attend your appointment so that we may recover our costs through our insurance company.

VERY IMPORTANT:

9.   If you have any cold or flu symptoms, or have been in close contact with someone with symptoms even if you are fully vaccinated. We kindly ask that you do not attend your appointment and give us as much notice as possible of your non-attendance. If you are at all concerned please contact us directly to discuss. If you have to cancel your appointment at short notice (less than 48 hours) for any of the above reasons we now require a doctors note or evidence of a positive covid PCR test to prevent the full appointment fee being charged/ retained.

10.   If you are diagnosed with the coronavirus whilst you are no longer legally obliged to to self-isolate we insist that you do not attend your appointment, and notify us of your non-attendance and onset of symptoms as soon as possible. If you have to cancel your appointment at short notice (less than 48 hours) for any of the above reasons we now require a doctors note or evidence of a positive covid PCR test to prevent the full appointment fee being charged/ retained.

11.  If you develop symptoms of the coronavirus within 14 days of your last appointment please notify us immediately.

12.   If you need to self-isolate or are in one of the high risk groups identified by the government (see below)
we kindly ask that you do not book an face-to-face appointment with us but use our telehealth service instead:

Other Measures We Are Taking:

13.  The treatment room is cleaned at the end of every day and at the end of each week by the landlords cleaners.

14.   We always use fresh clean towels for each patient and these are laundered by our laundry service at 60 degrees.

15.   We have increased our cleaning of high contact areas such as door handles and our card machine with high strength disinfectant.

16.  We are no longer required to wear face coverings for appointments, but will continue to do so for clinically vulnerable patients. We may wear gloves and gloves for your appointment. We have hospital grade PPE for this and this is changed between every patient.

17.  We always wash our hands using good hand washing technique and antibacterial soap before and after each patient.

18.  We are allowing 15 minutes between appointments to disinfect the treatment room and equipment between each patient, and to limit contact between patients in the clinic.

19.  The room is adequately ventilated between patients and during your appointments.

We continue to closely monitor government advice and will update our practices as necessary.
