Responsibility
Laura Jones, Director, is responsible for ensuring that this environmental policy is implemented, however, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of this policy are met.
Policy Aims
We endeavour to:
Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements
Continually improve and monitor our environmental performance
Continually improve and reduce our environmental impact
Incorporate environmental factors into our business decisions
Only work with suppliers who reflect our environmental ethos
Increase employee awareness and training
Increase client awareness
Energy and Water
We will seek to:
Reduce the amount of energy used as much as possible
Switch off lights and electrical equipment when not in use
Adjust heating with energy consumption in mind
Take energy consumption and efficiency of new products into account when purchasing them
Transportation
We will:
Reduce the need for travel, restricting it to necessary trips only
Encourage staff and clients to use public transport, cycle or walk to the clinic
Company vehicles will be maintained regularly to ensure ongoing efficiency
When company vehicles are changed we will look at electric or hybrid options
Salon Supplies
We will:
Where possible we try to use sterile bamboo guide tubes and sterile needles in sustainably produced recyclable or compostable packaging
Check the environmental impact of any new products we purchase
Favour more environmentally friendly and efficient products wherever possible
Reuse and recycle everything that we possibly can
Paper
We will:
Eliminate the use of paper in our clinic business by using online forms, email or text for all communications and an online booking system
Reduce packaging as much as possible
Seek to buy recycled and recyclable paper couch roll
Reuse and recycle all paper couch roll where possible
Plastic
We will:
Minimise the use of plastic in our clinic business
Reduce packaging as much as possible
Seek to buy recycled and recyclable products
Reuse and recycle all plastic where possible
Seek to eliminate the use of single use plastic in our business
Maintenance & Cleaning
We will:
Use cleaning materials that are as environmentally friendly as possible
Only use licensed and appropriate organisations to dispose of waste
Culture
We will:
Involve our staff in the implementation of environmental issues for greater commitment and improved performance
Provide staff with the relevant environmental training
Work with suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors to improve their environmental performance
Use local labour and materials where available to reduce CO2 and help the community
